Definitions

"The Company" refers to Modern Legacy Ltd. "The Drafting Partner" refers to The Will Company (a trading name of The Strategic Alliance Group Ltd). "The Client" refers to you, the person instructing us to prepare a Will or related documents. "The Society" refers to The Society of Will Writers and Estate Planning Practitioners.

1. Our Services

Modern Legacy provides will writing and estate planning services. Your instructions are taken through our online questionnaire and/or during a personal consultation. Your Will and related documents are drafted by our professional drafting partner, The Will Company, who are full members of the Society of Will Writers.

2. How It Works

  1. You complete our online questionnaire with your details and wishes.
  2. We review your instructions and arrange a follow-up consultation if needed.
  3. Your Will is drafted by The Will Company based on the information you have provided.
  4. A draft is sent to you for review within 5 working days of receiving complete instructions.
  5. Once you are happy with the draft, your final documents are prepared with full signing instructions.

Payment is required at the time of submitting your questionnaire. All prices are displayed clearly before payment is taken. Payment is processed securely by Stripe.

Our prices are subject to amendment if more detailed work is required than originally anticipated. Any additional costs will be discussed and agreed with you before any extra work is undertaken.

5. Your Right to Cancel

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days of submitting your questionnaire. To cancel, please email daniel@modernlegacy.co.uk.

If you have requested that work begins before the 14-day cancellation period expires, and you subsequently cancel, reasonable payment may be due for any work already carried out. If no work has commenced, a full refund will be issued within 5 working days.

6. Confidentiality & Data Protection

All information disclosed to us will remain strictly confidential. We will not pass on your name or details to any third party without your express permission, except to our drafting partner as necessary to prepare your documents.

7. Limitation of Liability

Modern Legacy and its drafting partner shall not accept liability in respect of information which was not disclosed by you and which comes to light at a later date as being relevant to the validity or content of your Will or advice given.

If we receive instructions for work that is beyond our competence, we will contact you to advise and offer a solution. You will be able to withdraw your instructions without charge at this stage.

8. Complaints

We are committed to providing a high quality service. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us at daniel@modernlegacy.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve the matter.

If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may refer it in writing to The Society of Will Writers at: Ground Floor Chambers, Newland House, The Point, Weaver Road, Lincoln, LN6 3QN.

9. Professional Standards

Our drafting partner, The Will Company, is a full member of the Society of Will Writers and adheres to its Code of Practice. A copy of the Code is available on request or online at the Society's website.

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
